Is it possible to completely remove emotion when making decisions? Are there situations you can think of where it is important to avoid making an emotional response? Give examples.

2) Taking a Position

Choose an issue that you feel strongly about. Then, think about why you feel strongly about your chosen issue. Now, write about this issue from another perspective, meaning argue it from the opposing viewpoint.

For example, let’s say “I believe children should be in school all year long and here’s why…” Then, I would argue, “here is why children need breaks from school…” After considering both viewpoints, answer the question, “why it so important to be able to understand and consider multiple perspectives when you are evaluating an issue?” How will it help you understand and further support your own viewpoint? How does this relate to the barriers we have been learning about?
